When should I plan and conduct my sale?
The best time to start your sale is in January. Call us for your free order forms, door hangers, sales receipts and posters to distribute to your sellers. Place your order by February 18th for delivery the first two weeks in March.
Is there a minimum number of cartons we have to order for a delivery?
Yes. Our minimum order requirement for our strawberry fundraiser is 108 flats.
Can I pick my own delivery date and time?
If your order totals a full truckload of fruit (2400 flats), we can deliver your fruit on the date and time that you request. If your order is less than a truckload, we will make every attempt to have your fruit delivered within the time frame you would like, but we ask that you be flexible with your day and time since we will have other orders on the truck with yours.
Who will unload my fruit from the truck?
It is not the responsibility of the truck driver to unload your order! We suggest at least 10 volunteers at your drop site to help unload your fruit. Please have them ready when the truck arrives and unload in a timely manner. Most truck drivers do not have a pallet jack or hand cart on their trucks. If you have access to these or can even get a fork lift, unloading will be quicker and easier.
How shall I distribute the fruit to my customers?
You may decide to either have a customer pickup day or to deliver the fruit directly to your customers. If you elect to have your customers pick up their order from your drop site, it is of the upmost importance to make sure you are not distributing fruit as you are unloading the truck! Make sure you separate your fruit by sizes and varieties and count your cartons first! Our cartons are clearly marked for easy sorting.
What if my fruit has a greenish tint on the skin? Is it ripe?
No. There is no issue like the greenish tint in citrus . All the strawberries are harvested, palleted, hyro-cooled and delivered to the school within 48 hours of being picked insuring maximum ripeness and flavor.
